About the Online Camera Viewer
The camera viewer is a clean, distraction-free live monitor for any webcam, USB camera, or built-in laptop camera. Unlike the full webcam test, it shows only the video so you can focus on framing, lighting, and camera placement without overlays.
When to use a camera viewer
Use it to position your webcam before a presentation, calibrate lighting for streaming, check the angle of a document camera, or monitor a room in full screen. Digital zoom, brightness, and contrast sliders let you evaluate how the image will look under different conditions.
Resolution options
Select Auto, 1080p Full HD, 720p HD, or 480p to see how your camera behaves at each setting. To find the maximum resolution your sensor supports, use the resolution detector.

How is the camera viewer different from the webcam test?
The viewer shows a clean live feed with adjustment sliders only. The webcam test adds diagnostics such as FPS, resolution reporting, and test photo capture.
Does the camera viewer record or upload video?
No. The stream stays inside your browser and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Can I view an external USB camera?
Yes. Open the viewer, then pick your external camera from the device dropdown.
Can I flip the image like a mirror?
The viewer shows the true image. For a flipped, mirror-style view use the camera mirror tool.
